The landlord says your rent is late

I briefly mentioned rent in my last post but I have more to say on this topic and decided it needed a post of its own.
At this point its probably important to know a bit about my housing situation. I live alone in a private rented property, I know what you must be thinking, how can I have a private rented property when I am on benefits?
Its OK I get it, so let me explain. I moved into this property while I wqe in full time employment. At that time I never expected I would have to leave my job and I certainly didn't have a few months to move before I started my claim for universal credit.
My rent is £400 a month, it was always paid on time in full when I was working but since I've been on UC its been a problem to keep it that way. You see my housing benefit is £200 that is the maximum amount I can have.
The first thing I did was online researchresearch, I went onto the gov.UK website - housing benefit section. After having a read on there I found what I was looking for, single people under 35 paying rent for a one bedroom property are only entitled to the amount equivalent to rent for a single room in shared accommodation. Meaning people under 35 get q maximum housing benefit payment of £200 even if your rent for s more than that, for someone over 35 in the exact same living situation there is at least a £100 difference in housing allowance. Is that really fair?
Once I had read the information online I immediately started to look for a cheaper place to live because I knew I wouldn't be able to afford £400 a month. I've been looking for over a year now and still haven't found anywhere, I am on the council housing list but my situation is just not urgent enough for them to offer me anywhere at the moment, even when I am in rent arrears of at least £600 and being threatened with eviction.
Before I end this post there is one more thing I would like to add. On many occasions I have discussed my rent concerns with my jobcentre advisor, even mentioned the fact I am close to eviction. I was given 2 options:
1.) Find somewhere cheaper - he was well aware that this was something I was already doing and had been for a while.
2.) "Can't you just move in with your family?" - the short answer to this is no, this is something I don't really want to discuss so at will just tell you this, I don't have family, I haven't seen or spoken to a single person in my family for a few years. (This wasn't my choice) and I don't think that will change. I'm bit including this because I want sympathy I'm including this because many people have said "can't you just move in with your family?" And some peopr reading this will ask the same too and want an explaination, so that's it the explaination is is that just isn't an option for me.
Sadly most (not all) of  our advisors simply don't care what happens to us after that 10 minute appointment, after office hours and why would they? It's not their problem.
As always thankyou for reading.
